Richard Hunt (1935 – 2023) was a preeminent American sculptor based in Chicago.
Please join Eric Stephenson, director of the Hunt studio and Gwen Yen Chiu, Mr.Hunt's apprentice and 2017 visiting artist in residence at Sloss Furnaces, as they discuss their work in the Hunt studio, Mr. Hunt’s influence on their own sculptural works, and how their ties to Sloss Furnaces impacted their careers as sculptors.
With an introduction by Jade Powers, Hugh Kaul Curator of Contemporary Art at the Birmingham Museum of Art, discussing the works of Mr. Hunt in BMA’s collection.
